Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP)
The Memphis Ambassadors Program, presented by the City of Memphis is open to high school students (grades 9 to 12) who reside in one of the seven City Council districts.
MAP is a year-round development program engaging nearly 500 students annually through career- and college-prep activities as well as life-building skills, with a focus on education, health, civic and social responsibility and employability.
The program, which operates out of eight sites throughout the city, teaches young people how to work in a team environment, contribute to a positive learning atmosphere and possess the ability to work independently.

Poetry Out Loud
Poetry Out Loud is a great opportunity for young people to express themselves and compete to win $20,000.
The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with U.S. state arts agencies to support Poetry Out Loud, a contest that encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage.
